That unorganized area of low pressure has developed into a tropical storm down in the eastern Caribbean. It is now Tropical Storm Erika. She currently has maximum sustained winds of 40 MPH and is moving WNW at 8 MPH. Erika is located at 16.9N 63.5W. Erika is the fifth named storm this season from the Atlantic Ocean.

With a minimum central pressure at 1010mb, Erika doesn’t really pack a whole lot of punch, but she will provide tropical storm winds and heavy downpours to the Caribbean islands.
