Brought Back Warm Weather
I am happy to announce I am back in the weather office after a trip to the Bahamas and decided to bring back warm summery air with me for everyone as a token for staying with us while I was away.
The upper level pattern in the atmosphere will be shifting this week to a ridge here in the east spelling warm sunny dry weather. This ridge looks like it will stay with us through the beginning of the weekend and maybe even into Memorial Day, but we all know Memorial Day has a historical 95% probability of being cool and wet here in Rochester so lets not get too optimistic yet.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
The first few days this week will be nearly identical to one another. We’ll have plenty of bright May sunshine with temperatures warming into the low 80s. Overnight lows will be generally mild around 60 degrees.
On Wednesday, increasing low level moisture will send the heat index to near 90 degrees or higher. Wednesday will also be a little warmer than Monday and Tuesday with afternoon highs into the mid to upper 80s. With warm moist air in place, I cannot rule out a very isolated afternoon thunderstorm developing on the lake breeze, but most locations will remain dry.
Thursday and Friday
Still expect plenty of sunshine for the end of the work week although it will be slightly cooler than Wednesday, but temperatures still above average in the low 80s.
Enjoy!
