Unseasonably cold air has invaded the entire northeast as high pressure to our southwest continues to circulate cold Canadian air down under a northwest flow into our neck of the woods.

As we all saw Sunday morning, this air was cold enough to produce light snow showers which lasted through mid morning before slowly clearing into sunny skies. These clear skies will help allow temperatures to fall near or below the freezing mark for most locations Monday and Tuesday morning.

Check out the map to the right for all of the current watches and warnings relating to upcoming overnight lows.

Monday
After a cold morning low somewhere in the low to mid 30s depending on your proximity to the lake, mostly sunny skies will dominate your Monday. Despite the strong May sun angle and abundant sunshine, we’ll only see a high in the low to mid 50s. Still a little breezy from the northwest, but not as windy as Saturday and Sunday.

Tuesday
Generally mostly sunny skies to begin Tuesday, but clouds will be on the increase through the afternoon. Showers will hold off until at least 4pm. Temperatures still a good ten degrees below normal only reaching the low to mid 50s again.

Wednesday
Tuesday night heading into Wednesday will feature a area wide rainfall. The steadier rain should be east of us by mid morning leaving only a few hit or miss showers or areas of drizzle for the rest of the day. Still cool with afternoon highs in the low 50s. Clouds will begin to clear up Wednesday evening.
