By now, many of you have probably learned of the late spring like temperatures in store for us by the end of the week. It’s going to be unbelievably nice, trust me; however, we’ll have to pay our bill early this week as we’ll need to keep a chance of showers in the forecast until Wednesday morning.

I’d rather talk about the warm weather rather than the rain toady…

A very impressive mid and upper level ridge will be building east by mid week. In addition, a surface high pressure will also be building in leaving us with mostly sunny skies. The sun this time of year is as strong as it is in early September (late summer) so we’ll be able to really warm things up during the day. Not only will the temperature be on the rise, but dew points will be in the mid to upper 50s by the end of the week making it feel even more like summer.

So how warm will it get? Here are my current projections.

Wednesday: 55-60°. A few early clouds and maybe a shower will keep things in check.

Thursday: No jokes here, 68-72°. Might be on the low side to be honest.

Friday: 79-83° (read the note below). Record for April 2nd is 78° recorded in 1963. That will be rewritten.

Saturday: 78-82°… Record high is 80° set in 1981.

Sunday: Difficult call right now. A cold front takes aim at us. All depends on if it hold off until Sunday night or not. I’ll remain optimistic right now. Lets go with another day in the mid to upper 70s.

*Note*: The only caveat is for locations close to either of the lakes where lake temperatures are still running between 35-40 degrees. As it stands, it doesn’t look like the wind direction will favor a Lake Erie sea breeze reaching Rochester and a general southerly flow should keep the Ontario breeze off shore, but this entire forecast weighs in the balance of either scenario not happening.

Fun fact: The average high by Saturday is 50°.
