Rochester 9/15 & 9/16
A upper level low over the Canadian Maritimes will control our weather over the next 48 hours and beyond as it circulates in cold and moist air down through WNY. This will keep clouds and a few lake flurries in the forecast straight through Tuesday.
Not a whole much to discuss other than the continued below normal temperatures and gloomy weather. Monday will mark day 20 in a row with below normal temperatures if we don’t exceed 33 degrees along with day 23 in a row of precipitation at the airport and those streaks may continue straight through this week. The temperature streak might come to an end as temperatures will hit the low 30s, but the chance of snow will be in the forecast until at least Thursday. On a side note, I thought Al Gore claimed the planet was getting warmer and everyone would be plagued by extensive droughts?
For Presidents Day, we can expect mostly cloudy skies with a few morning scattered flurries. I am optimistic of a late morning/early afternoon clearing trend as temperatures climb to near 32.
A weak system moves through on Tuesday bringing with it the chance of everyone picking up some light snow Tuesday morning. Snows should taper off by early afternoon. Accumulations will be light, but do expect a dusting to an inch in all locations. Again, highs around 32.
What a boring forecast.
