Be sure to give thanks to mother nature this Thanksgiving after she has given us an above average fall season so far. But it looks like today will be the last mild day we’ll see here in the capital region for quite some time. Highs will be in the low 50s with partly sunny skies. A great day for travelling and tossing the football around outside. Starting tomorrow, we will see some significant changes.
Expect some light rain showers beginning very late tonight into tomorrow as an area of low pressure arrives from the west, but that’s just the beginning. This low will team up with a disturbance in the Atlantic and stregthen significantly. Expect the winds to really kick up Friday night into Saturday reaching gusts of 50+ MPH! Winds will be from the northwest so all that cold air from our neighbors to the north will filter into our neck of the woods. It will feel really cold outside but high temperatures will actually be right around where they should be for this time of year.
It will get cold enough for snow to fall for Saturday morning, but it looks like it will only be a few flurries. Expect a high around 41 for Saturday and 46 for Sunday will a little sunshine.
Beginning next week, we’ll receive another arctic blast that will only allow high temperatures to barely reach 40. Lows will drop down into the mid and upper 20s as well. Hopefully you were able to take advantage of this beautiful weather in November because it looks like it’s just about over with.
