Forecast Update 11/18
As I said earlier this week, I would update the relatively dry forecast if needed and it’s now apparent Thursday will be anything but dry. A large upper level low will move through the Ohio Valley late Wednesday and will produce a large area of rain that will affect Western New York on Thursday. Earlier in the week, it appeared this feature would hang to our south and west until this weekend, but it’s coming our way earlier than I had anticipated and will put an end to our fortnight of dry weather.
After a bright sunny day on Wednesday, clouds will begin to increase overnight with rains moving in by noon Thursday. Due to the large swath of precipitation expected, we’re in for a good soaker with the majority of the day raining. Rains with linger into early Friday morning before we enter another extended dry and mild period.
As of Wednesday morning, there are still no signs of any arctic air coming our way within the next 6-8 days. This month is well on the way of being the first above normal month, temperature wise, of 2009.
