Twin Tiers Weekend Outlook: 11/13 to 11/15
The forecast this week is very simple. While the remnants of Ida move off to the south and east of us, we will continue to have sunny, seasonable weather for the foreseeable future thanks to a long-term upper-air pattern that is expected to continue shifting southerly air toward our area.
For those curious, surface winds will be light and southeasterly throughout most of the forecast period.
Friday
Mostly sunny skies will prevail, with a high in the mid-50s. This is about 10 degrees higher than our average high in the mid-40s.
Tonight, some of the clouds associated with Ida will back into the area. I don’t anticipate any precipitation making it near the area. With the cloud cover, low temperatures will be significantly warmer than the past few nights, reaching about 40 F.
Saturday
Clouds will dominate early, followed by a few breaks of sun as what’s left of Ida moves out to sea in the afternoon. It will be even warmer than Friday, with a high temperature approaching 60 F.
Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with a low in the low 40s.
Sunday
Winds will shift westerly as a weak “cold front” crosses the area. Both of the major models project any precipitation to break apart to our north and south before it reaches us, resulting in another dry, warm day maxing out in the upper 50s.
All in all, an excellent weekend.
