We are in store for a dry early evening, but not far to our west is a large storm system currently centered over western Michigan. This area of low pressure is bringing heavy rain showers extending from Wisconsin and Michigan all the way down to north central Texas along its trailing cold front.

Here in the Empire State, we can expect showers to begin just after midnight. These showers will be pretty heavy from the time it begins to about 5AM Wednesday morning. We can expect up to .25 to .30 of an inch by morning. As we go throughout our Wednesday, the showers will become weaker and more scattered. Another factor will be the wind. Starting up tonight around 2AM, winds will range from 10-15 MPH. The wind will really kick up from the west on Wednesday reaching 15-20 MPH and gusting even higher! Hold on to those umbrellas!

Once this storm passes to our northeast tomorrow afternoon, the winds behind the low will be much cooler from the west. We will only reach a high of about 57° but the added wind chill will make it feel much colder outside. Some sunshine on Thursday will hike up our temperatures into the mid 60s before more rain returns for late Thursday night into Friday
