A warm front associated with a low over the Midwest is lifting northward across Western New York bringing along with it a large area of rain which will continue for the remainder of the day Friday. This warm front will be north of us on Saturday keeping us in the warm sector and driving temperatures back above average values for the first time in nearly a week. Another small disturbance affects us on Sunday bringing with it a slight chance of a scattered shower and temperatures warmer than Friday, but cooler than Saturday.
For the remainder of Friday, it will be cool and rainy. Local rain gauges will exceed 1″ by later tonight, but the risk for flooding will be minor since it’s not all coming over a short period of time. Temperatures will hover within a few degrees of 50.
The rain begins to let up late Friday night into early Saturday morning — say after midnight. At that point, we’ll begin a slow clearing trend giving us some sunshine by dawn. Saturday is hands down the day for any outdoor activities this weekend. If you happen to be headed out to a local Corn Maize, the weather looks great, but a few trails may be muddy so wear the waterproof boots for sure. More sunshine will send temperatures to near 70 degrees making it feel oh so nice compared to this past week.
For Sunday, just a small chance of a passing shower. The risk increases the further west you may be. More cloud cover will hold temperatures in the low 60s, but still not bad considering we’ve hardly been above 50 degrees recently.
