Rochester 9/17
It sure is getting to feel like the end of summer out there alright. Some may ask, how can something end if it didn’t even begin at all?
This morning, we had a pretty good lake effect rain band that set up over northern Monroe County until about 9am. We’re getting into that time of year again when the Lakes are warmer than the air temperature, which leads to the development of lake effect precipitation. Thankfully, it’s still in liquid form at this time. Sure felt cool out there today with a stiff northerly wind and temperatures in the low to mid 60s. 64° was the official high in Rochester on Wednesday.
Partly cloudy skies will allow temperatures to drop down to 50° or so for most locations Wednesday night. A few degrees cooler inland.
Another unseasonably cool day on deck for Thursday. Some moisture streaming in from the south and east will keep a risk for a few widely isolated showers in the forecast. A greater chance for a shower exists to our south for you folks over the Southern Teir. Highs will run similar to those on Wednesday. Mid 60s at best.
