Twin Tiers Forecast Discussion: 8/27 to 8/28
Today, most of us will see a mix of sun and clouds as a high-pressure bubble establishes itself over the Great Lakes while a nearly stationary front, the one that passed through yesterday, sits over the Mason-Dixon line, further pinned by another high pressure over the Virginia Panhandle. Those in Cattaraugus and Allegany County should see more sun than those in Pennsylvania. Overall, it should remain a relatively cool and dry day, with temperatures hovering around 70 degrees.
Tonight should remain mostly the same, with temperatures dropping into the mid-40s.
Beginning early tomorrow morning, a low pressure system with a significant body of moisture stretching from Texas to Wisconsin will begin to squeeze its way between the aforementioned surface highs and spread some rain over the area. Temperatures should remain in the upper 60s to low 70s range. This rain will stay with us through Friday night and mostly clear out by Saturday morning, leaving us with what appears to be a decent weekend.
More details on tomorrow’s weather, as well as Saturday and Sunday, in the Weekend Outlook tomorrow.
