This certainly wasn’t the best weekend of summer weather wise, but improvement is knocking on our doorstep this evening. A upper level low is/was responsible for the scattered showers and cool autumn like weather we experienced on Sunday. This upper level feature will continue to work east Sunday night and allow a area of high pressure to begin to build across the area beginning Monday morning. Warmer and drier weather is on deck for Monday, Tuesday, and most of Wednesday until a sharp cold front drives temperatures back into the low 70s for highs to close the work week.

For Sunday night, a few isolated showers will cross the region from west to east early tonight. Skies will gradually begin to clear up by morning. Fog will be a concern early Monday morning as temperatures will fall into the low to mid 50s for all (near 60 on the immediate shoreline).

After some locally dense morning fog in some areas, skies will generally become mostly sunny by late morning. A few fair weather cumulus clouds are likely to form given the amount of moisture we have in the soil and lower atmosphere. Highs will only make it into the low to mid 70s, but shouldn’t feel too bad with the sunshine.
