Albany Forecast 8/21
The dewpoint at the Albany International Airport is clocking in at 73 degrees just after 8:30 this morning. Dewpoints will remain uncomfortably high today making it feel quite tropical outside. Even though we were already off to a warm start this morning with temperatures in the upper 70s, mostly cloudy skies along with showers and thunderstorms will likely keep the high temp today lower than what it could reach. We will still make it into the low 80s today.
With the heat and humidity, a few of these thunderstorms could be severe this afternoon into the evening as a cold front arrives from the west. We could see some damaging winds and localized downpours. If you were thinking about heading to Saratoga to check out the race track today, you may want to reconsider. But if you’re brave enough to tough it out, at least bring the umbrella.
Updates on any watches or warnings will be posted here at weatherblogging.com. Stay tuned.
