Albany Forecast
After a beautiful start to this Tuesday morning, the clouds rolled in and the rain began to fall around 11AM. As of 5PM, we’ve collected just under 1/4 of an inch of rain and it continues to fall. These showers will become more scattered as we head into Tuesday night before turning to mostly cloudy after midnight.
An area of low pressure spinning over the state of Rhode Island has been the cause for the rain today. This low will continue to drift northeast as we head through the night and into tomorrow morning. Expect more clouds in the sky for Wednesday but it looks to be much drier. The sun will make a few appearances behind those clouds which will lift our high temperature to about 78. Some longer streaks of sunshine in the afternoon could raise our high to 80, but it will be close.
A second low pressure system over southern Missouri will move into the northeast by Wednesday night into Thursday. This system will be a bit stronger than the one we experienced today so heavier rainfall and even a few thunderstorms are in the forecast. So far this month, we are about 3 inches above normal for precipitation. Probably not much of a surprise. We should still make it up to about 80 for Thursday.
